Great idea and we'd love this functionality. A lot of what you see has been customized for our needs (thanks Isak V.!) – and being able to search and filter through feature requests would be a game changer.

We'll contact our platform provider and see where this is on their roadmap. If it's nowhere to be seen, we'll have to look at more customization options :)

Thank you so much for the feedback. It's nice to know we are on the same page with our wants and needs.

Is there a possibilty to add keywords to feature requests? Which would be maintained exclusively by mods, but could invite the requester to use them to mark the target of a request better? Sometimes such a list can also help to think about "what could also be related to my request?"

JoJu There's a way for users to add "content tags" – I will enable this feature and see how it goes. It will certainly help with searches and at least for our own internal purposes. Keep the suggestions coming :)

Jack W, you were asking for it... :) To me, Capture One consists of two main parts: Image editing and image management (in short DAM). Others need tethering on a daily basis. Please correct me if you know more "major topics". Therefore I think, some keywording would be good, question is only, how deep the roots need to grow for dev's attention?

    Suggesting:

JoJu Thanks for this! Having greater categorization makes a lot of sense. Would you expect to see these as separate forum topics, or are these suggestions for tags?

If it's the latter, I think we could go even deeper. But what you've outlined is very close to the way we would like to be able to categorize things in order for them to be found quicker by both users and staff members.

I'm no big fad fan of folder > folder > folder > 1 item structures. So, if you ask me, please no more topics, just the possibility to use tags to filter. Currently the search in the Zendesk forum software is not leading to any topic I was looking for in the forum.

I also have no clue how the C1 project teams are working, but basically my intention is, to make their work easier than it is now.

JoJu I agree. I feel like we're at the limit with the number of topics as it is.

I can see that, and we have a common goal. Feedback like yours is super valuable when it comes to building up use cases and it's exactly what this topic was created for. Thank you.

I'm in contact with our platform provider to see if we're utilizing content tags in the right way based upon this conversation.

If we're looking at major and distinct functional areas for taxonomies, I'd suggest a separate parent for exporting.

Big +1 on this approach overall.  If we could implement this type structure #and# have nested comments, we'd be cooking.

JoJu, I apologize for my less-than-diplomatic comment from a few days ago.  I let outside issues color my comment and 1) I was out of line and 2) you didn't deserve it.

Brian Jordan this is the web and you're not the only one of us two who ocassionally reacts "less diplomatic" :) – I recall some support mail-exchanges when I was rather upset with functions of C1, response time and a couple of more inconvenient stuff. I don't think my texts were a pleasure to read at that time, but C1 was then a nightmare to use, with crashes, hiccups, slow response. It got better these days, but when it comes to DAM and lack of basic functions, I still might get a bit more passionate.

Plus the forum layout, the "hard-to-find-my-post-again" dysfunctional search, I think I was not in the most cheerful mood and maybe you sensed that. Forget it, no apology needed but I appreciate your gesture anyway.

Agreed, this I should have taken into the mind map, but it was more sort of an idea, not a complete structure. And when I look at it: could it be helpful to pin something like a topic tree on top of the "improvement section"? I don't want to go super crazy and suggest "by clicking on a subtopic, the post would get one or two tags via hot-spots and one only could save/send the post, if the four basic questions were answered (sort of conditional form)" - don't think that would be an easy thing to program. Also, a little bit of effort from a user suggesting an improvement would make it look more dedicated, no?
