"Open With" and "Edit With" list problems
Hey All,
I have a number of apps I wish to "Edit With" (6 in total), and "Open With" (4 in total) my raw files. But two are not in the list of available apps in the C1 "Open with" Menu 1.0.0 plugin: Specifically, DxO PureRAW 3, and AutoPano Giga. (The absence of the latter I get; it's very old and not commonly used, but the absence of the former mystifies me.)
First question: Is there way to get a missing app onto that list? I've tried opening them through Finder using the respective app to associate the file type with the app, but that doesn't help.
I'm surmising that C1 derives its "Open with" associations from the computer, but I can't seem to get both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop 2023 to be associated with the raw files at the same time. I can set either one as default, at which point C1 places it in the "Open With" list, but then the other stops being associated with the file type and I have to open it via 'Other...".
Before you ask, both Photoshop 2023 and Lightroom Classic appear on the "Open with" Menu 1.0.0 list and both are checked. Nevertheless, only one ever appears by default in the list. I can get either onto the "Open With" list by changing it to the default app for the RAW file type on my computer. But doing so bumps the other from the list. If I change the default app to one that is not on the list and check marked, such as DxO PureRAW 3, then both disappear and the default app does not take its place on the list. I can get both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop on the list, but only with one of them being associated using the "Other..." option. And if I choose "Other..." to get both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic onto the list, then some other app I use, such as DxO PureRAW 3, disappears from the list, and so on. Why would making one of the apps a default association cause the other to disappear from the file associations list?
If it helps, I'm running C1 16.2.0.112 on a Mac Studio running Ventura 13.3.1. And if it makes a difference, I'm running Lightroom Classic 12.3 and Photoshop 24.4.1.
Cheers,
Martin

I have the same issue, a workaround is to open in finder, then open with PR, do the processing and view it, .dang will be created and visible in C1 so works pretty well in the meantime

With the latest release of 16.2.1 the problem is solved, as I can set up "open with" shortcuts. Yay!

Err, So why not share how you do that Martin.
I also would like to create a shortened EDIT WITH list of apps.

Same with me. My "Edith WithW" menu list is populated with program shortcuts i don't use. Any solution to get this cleaned up?
Thnx

Found the solution myself:
you can edit the list under "Settings/Plugins/Open With Menu"
