Best colour checker card for Capture One
I'm looking to buy a colour test card to use while shooting on location and in studios.
It would appear that the main two are the Datacolor SpyderCheckr 48 or the Calibrate ColorChecker Passport CCPP2.
I've heard the Passport is built like crap and the hinges break and it is small, hence the name, while the SpyderCheckr seems to be much larger and better built. I was about to order the latter when a mate says he had nothing but trouble with the software of the SpyderCheckr (but he uses Lightroom...). He also says Datacolor are only interested in their later models and don't support older ones, which I know is true as I have a Datacolor SpyderX Pro monitor calibrator and it is no longer supported and the software is out of date and won't be updated either.
So, this is primarily so I can get accurate white balance when shooting stills, that's about it.
With this in mind, which of the above two would work best and easiest with Capture One Pro 23 – or is there a different alternative that I haven't thought of.
Again, it's primarily for white balance.

If white balance is your primary or only goal, why not just use a white balance card? There are quite a few options available and they are reasonably priced, certainly much less than a Passport or SpyderCheckr

Does C1 support color checkers?

Yes, provided you understand that the way you do it is to use the Color Checker software to create an icc profile, which you then use in C1. There are numerous youtube videos that show you how to do that. Here are a couple of them:

Note if you are doing this you should also calibrate your display.
