License for old or new version?
Hello all,
Recently there was a sale on camera's where you received a free capture one licence.
I wonder if the licence version is then dependent on the buy date or activation date?
Eg.: the bundle was bought on 20/09/2023; new C1 was released 1/10/2023 (if I'm correct). If I would then activate the license after 1/10/2023, would it be for the old or the new version?
I'm wondering as someone offers me it to buy, as they won't use it.
Kind regards

There is nothing attached to license, for example terms? Type and scope of license?

No :(

Nothing on that embedded card or the back? While it's possible that everything is reduced to license ID and it dictates silently the version applicable, we can keep looking for the answers.

No, nothing else. The back of the 'map' is just black

I guess that asking support is the only way to go, as I don't recall anyone from sales team visiting community - and these leaflets might be known only to few people in Capture One.

Thanks for the help, I indeed filled in a contact form. So hopefully a quick response

I can't speak to the specific license you have in-hand but I do have experience with one that looked just like that. I sat it for almost 6 moths and it then activated the version of the software current at the time I activated the license.
You can confirm by completing the form here: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Select Account, Activation, Payments from the list box.

Accidently completed the form under another option, but it will come to the right person hopefully.
But then it looks good and I can buy it with assurance. The new AI selection looks to good to not have as an option.

Brian Jordan this might still depend on type of license - even if it's permanent with a fixed start point, in old model you might have been still within update window, so you got the latest version, but now it could be only the latest patch of the minor version this license was hardcoded to, so waiting would not change a lot.
Guido please drop us the answer, when you will receive and confirm it.

Marcin Mrzygłocki Hence my suggestion he go directly to the authority. Only they are able to provide a definitive answer.
