Moderators should have an ability to merge threads

we need a way to merge threads so all the comments and votes are aggregated into a single discussion.

i'd love to have such a feature, but zendesk should provide a native one.
hm on the other hand i could try to write a script using the zd api, but moderators won't be able to use that and i want to focus on documentation for the near future

This could be an improvement from users' point as well, because new users might vote for duplicates, but not stay long enough to be informed of the main thread, thus stalling the vote count for otherwise highly requested features/changes.

Unfortunately these kinds of features and functionality is out of our hands. Even as an admin, I cannot merge posts – all I can do is close for comments and redirect other users to the most relevant post.
We are looking into a completely new solution for feature requests and camera/lens requests. So stay tuned.

Yep. We will be sure to port over all existing feature requests and camera requests, should anything change.
