Add option Global Filters → Always hide HEIF files
What problem do you see this solving?
You can choose RAW+HEIF instead of RAW+JPEG in some new cameras. Capture One offers an option in Global Filters to hide JPEG files, option to hide RAW files, but there is no option to hide HEIF files. Adding this option would serve the equivalent for HEIF as it does for hiding JPEGs.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
I faced it today and several times before. I switched my camera to RAW+HEIF, as HEIF offers 10-bit instead of 8 only like JPEG. But, when importing to Capture One, I would like to see RAW files only.
Actually, I face a bug at the moment, when the source folder contains both RAW and HEIF files, then the import dialog crashes down the whole application. It would be great to fix this bug. But, I would also like to hide HEIFs from C1 just like I hide JPEGs.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One? At the moment I move HEIF files to a subfolder and deselect "Include subfolders" in Import dialog. But, this is a workaround only.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
