Prints are flat no matter what I do - help.
Hi all,
I'm about at the end of my patience here. No matter what I do, my prints out of C1 (v 20) are flat with far more muted reds and greens from C1 versus printing the same file with the same profile and same settings from Photoshop. Even monochrome prints lack the same life compared to being printed through Photoshop.
I prefer C1's user experience and raw conversions, I also print a lot. I print 5x7's a lot as proofs for my projects and it is much quicker if I can print from C1 than to open everything in PS.
This happens on any paper I use. I usually use Moab but I've noticed it with Canson and Epson and related profiles. It happens on matte and lustre papers. I must be missing something, but I can't tell what it might be.
I've tried it with C1 controlling the profile. I've tried it by turning the color off in C1 and using Epson to assign the printer profile. Doesn't matter.
Any ideas? I'm about to go back to Lightroom if I can't get this fixed, because it's a core part of my practice and after two years of this and trying everything I can think of I'm just sick of it.
I'm running an Epson P900, but this also happened on my 3880 when I ran it. Using a Mac Studio M1 max but this also happened on my 27" 2012 Imac that I was running until last summer.
Is capture one just worse at printing, is it something in the sauce?

Please open a support case. I have one open. There seems to be a known issue with printing. The more open cases we can get the higher the priority it will be to fix it.

I will open one.
Known issue for more than two years? Or is this new for some users?

Apparently for some time but I don't know exactly how long.

It feels unacceptable if they've known about it since ... actually looking back it's been more than three years, I've just never been motivated to gripe about it because ultimately the prints were to edit from, and the real thing always was printed from photoshop anyways.
They're telling me my C1 (20) is too out of date for my OS now, so I don't think it will get a reply. But this problem was the same with my older OS. Not confident in paying for an update now especially.

I have the latest version and it also has this issue. Engineering has confirmed it they have the same issue I have.

Sign me up for this, too. I made a several prints last night and they were bad.

Here's a comparison for anyone curious. C1 on the left, Photoshop on the right. Same image file, same print profile profile, same paper. Same everything. I get this every time. No one I know actually prints with C1 because it never works as well and they all can't be bothered to (like me), to just not use PS instead. But if I'm going to pay for another upgrade I need it to work this time.

Definitely open a support case. My case number is 208329 if you want to refer to it. We need to pile on so CO makes this a priority.

I did open one a few days ago but got a bot reply that essentially said "we're not gonna do anything until you do your free 30 day trial upgrade" (because they won't answer to old versions running on new OS's) - so I need to jump through more hoops, and I'm not sure when I'll get to that.

I can tell you that Capture One is actively looking at this.
We can all guess that it likely will only be fixed in a new release. Any older versions probably won't be addressed. This is only speculation in my part but that seems to be the pattern.

This is good to hear. Do you think they'd benefit from me sending examples, also? If so, what's your case number and I'll open one and reference yours.

I don't think they need more screenshot examples. More users reporting the issue helps. My case number is posted above.
