16.3.2 - JPGs cannot be imported
Please confirm or let me know how to resolve this.
Doesn't matter what I do, Import has a filter applied that filters out JPG files.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a new catalog or session - doesn't matter.
Choose Import
Choose a folder containing JPG files.
Ensure filters are cleared.
Observe no JPGs appear as thumbnails and that "(filtered)" is displayed on the thumbnail window title even though no filters are set.
Observe that format counts are correct and again that the filter is shown as disabled.
The result - impossible to import JPGs using Import dialog.

Enable JPEG Editing has a tick.

My thoughts too, but it seems to be hidden. I tried adding a filtering then using the clear filters operation - no change.
So you have tried the steps I outlined and you don't have a problem? If so which OS are you using? I'm on windows 11.

> Brett Handley: ...clear filters operation - no change
Is the minimum image size (512 pix) still enforced?
I never faced that limit myself, but quite a few C1 users did in the past.

John, I see. I guess my wherever the settings are kept is corrupt somehow for me. Guess I'll have to try an uninstall and reinstall, maybe nuke any settings file I can find.
To clear all the filters you can click the little circle with X that appears in the filter search field when a filter is active, or the 3 dot menu in the same field to bring up the advanced search dialog and clear the "active filters" in that. Nothing shows me an enabled filter but one is definitely in place somehow.
OddS, I don't know about that limit but all these jpgs are about 12MB in size.

Look at View > Global Filters. Any global filters also apply to the import dialog. If Hide JPG is checked then you will not see them in the import dialog.

Walter, thank you. I haven't come across that menu option before, I know I didn't use deliberately. It was indeed the issue. I think what's happened is that I've hit the F11 shortcut key to put my web browser into full screen mode, C1 happened to be active at the time and F11 is the shortcut for Always Hide JPGs.
I had tried a click and double-clicked on the "filtered" title to find out what filters were active - but alas that's not a feature.
Thank you everyone.
