Exposure Warning randomness

Often when I turn Exposure Warning on it only flashes up briefly and then I have to zoom in and out or turn it off and on a few times for it to be displayed permanently. And when I turn it off it often stays on, and I have to zoom in and out or turn it on and off a few more times to actually turn it off.

Does anyone else see this?
