Proof Profile with ICC Profile for digital print - Print result is to dark
Hi,
I followed this instruction: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002645918-Proofing-profiles here is my workflow:
- I use saal digital printing service
- I havce a calibrated display
- I installed the ICC Profile provides by saal digital for the relevant paper: https://www.saal-digital.de/service/profibereich/fujifilm-crystal-archive-album-silk/ in my Mac OS
- I created a export receipt for proof, with the correct ICC profile for the selected paper
-. I adjusted the picture to my preferences and double checked the result in the proof view
- I exported the variant with the sRGB Profile as requested by saal
=> The resulting prints are very dark, compared to the proof preview on the monitor. Can I improve the proof view in any way?

What brightness did you calibrate the display? I calibrate mine to 85 candela to ensure I edit brighter so prints and screen look the same. Prints have very low luminance so your screen needs to be set to a much lower brightness than many set it.

I calibrate to 90 candela in a fairly dark room. A quick check is to compare a white page on your screen with a sheet of white paper under your normal lighting. Also print viewing light makes a difference. I try for 400 lux.

Thanks, I calibrated to 100 candela, perhaps still to bright ...
