Metadata IPTC fields across several selected images not batch populating/syncing

I have saved a metadata preset with the base IPTC information I want on images. I can easily select one image and add my saved IPTC/Metadata preset from the burger menu. BUT - when I want to select more than one image this process only applies to the first image of the selection? The remaining images are unchanged? Particularly a problem when I change the text inside the description field (ie the caption) - only the first image reflects the change.

I want to be able to load my base caption (Metadata preset) into a batch of images - and alter that  preset across a section of images for only this once and synchronise them to read the same across that batch - and then choose, on my next move, my next batch of images and change those to have the next relevant information added please? This was I can have the same copyright info etc embedded but the description field is relevant to the sequence of images being sent out to clients.

I have tried the copy/apply method too and no joy.

I can only seem to be able to affect the first image in the selection.

I currently use Photomechanic to quickly add IPTC and wanted to explore how to have this ease within C1 and save me a step in my workflow.

By the way - 'Provider' field I think should be 'Creator' in the IPTC standards? it is in Adobe and Photomechanic anyway - can this be confirmed as correct?

Also where is the 'Credit' field? this seems to be missing completely?

Any pointers welcome - what am I missing?

  Also - by way of  making it easy to replicate what I am doing wrong/not working for me.

  Select one image > load a metadata preset > tap in the description field and change the text in here > go to adjustment clipboard within metadata tool > copy > then select your next thumbnail next image > adjustment clipboard  apply > and what gets applied is the PRESET and not the preset with altered caption?

  Pls ignore my 'Provider' field query - my mistake - but cannot find the credit field yet?

  C1 does not support many of the possible IPTC fields, and I think misinterprets others. This is strange given the increasing emphasis on studio, product and portrait work which for professionals will require model releases and the like. C1 also fails to allow GPS data to be edited or added to imported images. In my experience using PM is the best way of handling these issues. C1 is truly excellent as a raw editor, but it is not a one-stop shop.

  Thank you - I think you are right.

  I love C1 for all the things it gets so so right - and was exploring if I had missed a trick here and could promote C1 to be a one stop shop.

  IPTC is so critical - PM I have used for years and years - dependable and as complex or as simple depending on the user needs.
