Capture One not opening since Windows update
I installed the newest windows update on the 12/13/24 and since then I have not been able to get capture one to open.
I have tried:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling C1
- Reverting to the previous Windows version... Then uninstalling and reinstalling C1
- Installing all the .net stuff individually
- Yelling at it till I feel better
I'm pretty much stumped here. I need to get C1 running ASAP to meet some client deadlines.
I've pulled the diagnostic data from Windows if it helps:

Look at this thread for a possible solution:

Or check for a corrupted system file

I have the same problem. I try to launch the program, nothing happens, but I can hear the CPU fans increase and it's technically running in Task Manager. I have to kill it via task manager, then when I open it again, it will ask to submit a bug report which I've done 500 times, then it will ask which catalog I want then it opens normally.
I don't even see the splash screen until I do that process. I can't use an old version because the catalog wouldn't work. It's been like this for months now

Capture One does not uninstall some of it's state data, preferences, gpu support stuff, etc... so that remains even if you uninstall and reinstall. So, one thing to try is to rename those two directories forcing it to recreate that from scratch and give you a truly clean install.
To do that, shut down Capture One and rename these two directories:
c:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Capture_One
c:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local\CaptureOne
I rename them to:
c:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Capture_One.bak
c:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local\CaptureOne.bak
These directories contains your styles, export recipes, your capture one login and other preferences so that's why I'm recommending you rename them, not delete them as you may want to restore them or part of them later. For now, this is a test to give you a fully clean install. If the fully clean install fixes the problem, then you can copy certain pieces of those directories to restore your recipes, styles, etc... If not, then the problem is outside of these directories and you will probably need help from support.
