Copy/Paste layers
I really appreciated the new copy/paste layers between images. Now you can select which layers to copy, and applied layers will be added to existing layers, instead of replacing them. But if I want to replace them?
For example I copy/paste one layer from one variant to another. Then I make some changes to the layer and transfer the same changes to the second variant. Copying and pasting the layer, adds a layer with the same name to the variant! I prefer, in this case, to choose if overwrite or add a new layer!
Another issue I noticed, is that, if I select two variants and use the double arrow copy/paste tool, and select layers to copy/past, a warning appears, and warns me that layers can't be pasted in the primary variant!

For you second point you might like to consider creating a Support case and reporting it as an anomaly that might be reconsidered and corrected. That way if, for some reason, it is actually intentional (I can't think why it would be but who knows?) we would all learn a little more about the way it works.
For your first point ... it's always tricky when something like the name is entirely free text and has no specific identity function that is know to be consistent.
So realistically the only question one might be able to ask (I think) would be do you want to replace the existing layers or not. Or maybe just make sure the existing layers are made inactive as part of the process.
Then there is the question about whether one could satisfy a user's expectations if copy and applying layers to a whole batch of images that may already have their own quite different layer edits with the same names.
I imagine that making the facility available will create further user feedback about its practicality in use and so allow further popular refinements to be considered.

Thank you, I fully agree with you!
In my opinion, asking is the best choice, and the option "don't show this message again" it's even better.
But knowing how capture one developers work, I'll never saw my request accepted.
I made the same request (two releases ago) for the ability to overwrite existing files when processing variants. A simple question "A file with the same name already exists. Would you like to overwrite?" with the option "Don't ask me later" so if someone preferred how it now works, can continue to use it as always!
The answer was NO without the opportunity for reply!
Anyway, I opened a support case.0 -

I think there may be a strong policy decision behind the Overwrite question that probably would not apply when in the middle of editing something.
The problem I have is thinking how one might reliably introduce the functionality without incurring endless "I don't agree with this..." posts on various forums and thousands of support calls from people who use the options without considering what the consequences might be for their edit work and then complain that things have gone wrong.
I would guess that having listened to comments about what has been available so far we now have the next stage and people's feelings about that can be assessed and taken into account for the future.

We need to option to chose the behavior of layer pasting. Be able to do it like version 20 or be able to replace by default like in version 12. I prefer the way version 12 works by replacing layers.
