Remove a Background Color? (Noob Question)

Hi,

I'm on MAC 10.13.3 and new to Capture One 11. Could someone please explain steps for:

• removing a (generally) solid background color (i.e. gray paper from camera shoot)
• cutting around a single object (object shot on gray paper)
• changing background color to white (changing gray color to solid white.)

On PS I get it, but I can't figure it out here. Thank you very much!

  You can not remove a background in Capture One like you can in Photoshop. You can however make a mask of your grey background and then use the exposure/levels/curves tools to change the grey to white.
  
  To do this make a new layer, which you can do using the Layers tool, then use the brush tool to manually draw in your mask (press M to see the mask). The Auto mask & Refine mask tools may be helpful in brining some automation to creating your mask.
  
  If your subject is a solid color you could use the color editor to make a color selection, turn that selection into a masked layer, and invert the mask. Then your grey background would be selected and you could adjust it.

  Do it with PS. Capture One is not a graphics app, it's a raw converter and is not suited to this kind of work.
