Licensing Key for C1 20

I have a perpetual license and just upgraded from C1 12 to 20. When I type in my licensing key for activation (C1 12 as required) it does not recognize it. I know I have the correct code - have checked on the phaseone.com web site and on my computer. Phase One does not have a support phone number to call so am asking here if anyone has had this issue and if so what did you do to solve it.

  I can read your post in two ways. I will answer them both, named below a) en b).
  
  You upgraded from 12 to 20. Congrats. Do you mean you installed the newer version? Or that you bought a new license key, upgrading your 12 key to 20 key?
  
  a) If you only installed CO20, it won't activate with your CO12 key. You need to buy an upgrade. I think this is the case.
  
  b) If you have upgraded your CO12 key to CO20, and you try to activate CO12 with your CO12 key, it won't work because the old key is deactivated at you traded it in during the upgrade. You can use your CO20 key to activate CO12 if you need to. I do not think this is what you refer to.

  I read the web site incorrectly and thought that since I had a perpetual license that I could use the CO 12 key for C) 20.
  I downloaded 20 but did not buy the license for it. I have done that and all works perfectly.
