I am struggling trying to perform the basic task of selecting multiple images to export(or batch processing in general). While in multi view, I have multiple images from my session selected. They appear in the center main viewing pane. I then should be able to select multiple images within by either holding down shift or control and clicking on them. But this does not work for me. I can only select one at a time, even though I have watched videos of people doing just that!
I have set the program work space and keyboard shortcuts to default.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in multiview in the viewer you've already selected more than one image. Selection is made in the browser, not in the viewer. All the images appearing in the viewer are selected (or are just some of them since there's a limit for images displayed at once). If you need to narrow down or change selection to export just some of your edited images do it in the browser.

No, even though I have selected multiple images in the browser, they all show up in the viewer with one of them selected(white border). And when I process them, only that one gets processed.

There's a setting which you can toggle off with an icon on the toolbar that looks like three stacked rectangles, or from the Image menu: Edit all selected variants.

    Is that the problem?

That was the problem, Ian. Such an obvious mistake, I feel silly. Thank you sir!

You're welcome. If I had a pound for every time that was the issue, I'd be rich!

Well, 3 years later you've earned another thank you from me. The instructional video does, indeed, show the "edit selected" toggle, but it is not mentioned.

    Thank You!
