Organization with folder from within Capture One Pro
I just recently switched from Lightroom and I really like to work in Capture One Pro, however one thing that I still haven't found out is how can I achieve what I usually do in Lightroom right after import:
Usually I capture my photographs into a folder structure that is organized like this:
Top folder: year (e.g. 2018)
subfolder: month (e.g. 02)
-> subfolder: date + name of shoot (e.g. 2018-02-01 Venice)
Until now I have a folder structure which looks like 2018 | 02 | 2018-02-01 Venice
In Lightroom I would right click the folder "2018-02-01 Venice" and create a subfolder called Capture and move all just captured pics into that folder. After that I would create additional folders called Master, Selects and Output on the same level as Capture. But somehow it is not possible to create folders in Capture One Pro, at least I cannot find the solution.
After culling the pictures in the Capture folder I would move the Selects to the according folder and when I create JPGs from my raws I would put them into the Output folder, Masters would contain my PSD files.
If anyone knows how I can create subfolders in Capture One Pro that eventually will also be created on the HD containing the image files that would be really enlightening! Or if you can tell me about a workflow that comes close to what I want to achieve that would be very constructive.
Thanks in advance for any help on this
kind regards
Marcin

I also recently came over the C1 from LR and was initially intrigued by the idea of using C1 sessions with Media Pro. In the end I decided to use sessions with a C1 catalogue instead. I am importing a session for each job into one catalogue - which brings along all the folders that the session has.
My directory structure is similar to yours <year>/<year-month-day shootname> and I create a new session for each shoot. In my case I set the selects folder to be '.' and leave the rest the default - you can create whatever set of folder you want in the session. After I have done working on the job I import the session into the catalogue and then each job folder has my selects in that folder and a sub folder for capture, trash and output as well.
<year>/<year-month-day shootname> --> contains my selected shots from the job
<year>/<year-month-day shootname>/Capture --> contains any other shots I want to save from the job
<year>/<year-month-day shootname>/Trash --> contains (or not - if I clear it) outtakes
<year>/<year-month-day shootname>/Output --> contains out put from the job - or not if I direct it else where on my HD0 -
Hi IanL,
thanks for your answer! I gave it a try and the only thing I don't understand is the folowing: under Naming I can specify the renaming for my imported RAW files, which is clear, but when I start the import the files won't be renamed in the order they were recorded by the camera on the SD, instead there is no order so when I have shot different people for example their sequences get messed up, is there a way to rename the RAWs automatically but to keep the order they have been saved to the SD?
kind regards

Have you got the latest update of Capture One to 11.0.1? I think the problem about not importing in order was a bug that 11.0.1 corrects.

Awesome, latest Update fixed the issue!
Thank you for the hint!
