Auto Adjust changes???
I am a relatively new user of v12 and now v20. I was using (and loving) the auto adjust in the levels tool in v12. All of the A (auto adjust) buttons have been removed from the tools in v20 as far as I can see. And now there is an Auto Adjust button with a drop down for all of the missing tool Auto adjusts on the main tool bar. But how is that an improvement? You have to make sure you do not have any other tool checked prior to clicking on that button. And it stays checked until you uncheck it. And for some reason that I do not understand, when I set just the Levels to be adjusted and click that top menu toolbar button, I see changes in the histogram, but the levels tool is not updated and looks like it did when the image was reset. I have opened a ticket, but I thought perhaps someone can shed some light or provide with a better understanding of how to use this in V20.
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
This tools that offer Auto Adjust still have the feature. The Icon has changed. Not sure why and I'm not sure what the new icon is supposed to be but it is still in the same position next to the "?".
I don't usually use the Auto Adjust feature for all tools at the same time but I have tried it in recent days and so far as I could tell it works as expected.
If your Auto Levels had already been applied you would see no change in the histogram - or maybe the changes were so small that they were just not incredibly obvious? That happens sometimes I find.

Thanks Grant. I completely missed that new icon. I was brain-washed into looking for the A.
But there was something going on with the auto adjust all tool button and the update of the level tool itself. I took before and after screen shots and sent them in, but I just exited and restarted C1 and now the auto adjust all tool does update the level tool. Most likely caused by the software not updating a global setting until restart or something. Not going to be something I am going to use or change anyway, so I am good.
Thanks again

I was wondering about the auto adjust as well. Considering the documentation still indicates we should see the letter A, that is what I have been looking for. Pretty poor form if you ask me. The icon that replaces the A appears to be a small wand, like the one in the icons at the top of the screen that have accompanying text. I test software for a living and I did not find that specific change something that was obvious. They should list all changes in the release notes so we are made aware of everything that has changes including icon changes. 0 -

Yes, I have no idea why it was changed. Maybe user were assuming the A was used as a keyboard short cut?
It's not mentioned in the documentation as far as I can tell as Mike451 has pointed out.
I did look back through the beta testing release notes and there was nothing there either so I presumable that with the new option to include the use text below icons in the toolbars and the common use of the icon in the toolbar and the individual tools (albeit so small in the tools for most people's screens that I'm not convinced the match is obvious) the feeling is that the change is self explanatory and cosmetic.
I suspect that is a bit of a stretch and may be very confusion for new users reading the documentation, as Mike451 has already observed.
Presumably this will be on the list of updates required as the new Help Files system is refined and grows but I really hope the team has given some thought to the question of how they will be offering links to the correct detailed information for each release as well as each major version change.
I think, this being an agile world, that the final release is likely to be a last minute confirmation with the documentation changes, especially the smaller changes like an Icon swap at the tool level, catching up quickly shortly after release. The new documentation system looks like it is intended to be maintained in that way. Indeed now that it allows for comments one can presumably add pointers to the changes required.
If so that means that the correction to information can be immediately offered to both users and the C1 team members tasked with maintaining the entries. That's an interesting idea that I cannot recall finding anywhere else to date - but maybe I just don't use the right applications!

A wand? I suppose it could be a wand. Not very wand-like though. Perhaps a Wizard Hat icon might have been a better choice.
