adjusting range of 3-way color balance

Is there a way to control and limit the range that the shadow, mid tone, highlight adjustments work on a Mac? There seems to be quite a wide range that is adjusted with shadow and midtone tool and even some overlap. Is it possible to just adjust only deeper shadows or only upper highlights for example as in the way Photoshop "shadows and highlights tool" works (amount-tone)?

  I am afraid such features do not exist for the 3-way color balance tool in CO 8.2.

  Thats's interesting, I have had the same question. I went back to the curve tool for one or the other image.
  
  Setting the separation or "blending over" value for each two adjacent tool pairs (shadow-mid, mid-high), or, as you indicated, setting an upper and lower value for each tool separately, is the missing piece which would uplift this great new tool being an unmatched super tool!
