Styles and editing consistently
I feel I am missing something important when editing using styles. I love the matte look with rich brown tones but whenever I apply a style it just does not work consistently across a wedding collection. Many photographers achieve a stylised look across their work which I seem currently unable to achieve. So there must be something I am doing wrong but I am at a loss to what my issue is. I understand you cannot just slap a style and everything will look great - so what I am looking for is the workflow and what adjustments I need to make to have a consistent 'look' thanks for your help guys

Consistency when using styles requires consistency in images - exposure, contrast, light source, white balance...all those things have to be consistent in order to deliver a consistent look. If one or more of these things is very different (for instance the light quality on the outside vs the inside) you will have to correct for that in post production.
So during photography I would make a white balance shot if the light changes considerably and then when you're looking through the images you can easily correct them for white balance and even out the exposure and contrast.
One thing to be careful about is that some styles might contain settings for white balance, contrast etc - so if that changes the images you'll have to go over them again.0
