Smart Albums don't work properly
Trying out C1 20 smart albums for first time. My library has just under 90k images. Created a smart album with about 5 criterion. When attempting any modification of the conditions, ANY click results in the app running the filter instantly - which stalls the program.
Ex. I click on the + to add a new criterion: Instantly get a SPOD (Spinning Pizza Wheel of Death), which takes about a minute to clear. Then I click on the drop down list, choose 'date' : SPOD. Then I choose 2006: SPOD. Then I choose 'after': SPOD
This is so painful and slow it is making my eyes bleed!!
Surely this cannot be the intended behaviour. I was expecting to be able to edit freely within the 'edit smart album' pane, then commit the search by closing the pane or having a 'go' button.
This is just crazy.

Some tips.
Select a collection with fewer images while editing the smart album. Hopefully, you at least can finish editing it before you go to the larger collection, for example, the All Images collection.
You might do a verify of your catalog. My advice is to do this regularly and in particular after irregular behavior.0 -
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I take it from your reply that this is normal expected behaviour on the part of C1. (ie it is up to the user to point a smart album at a sparse collection first, then re-point it at the full catalogue; a user workaround to poorly implemented search behaviour)
Since I am mostly interested in a responsive, efficient DAM to organize, tag and find my photos, and not so much on a RAW converter, or photo editor, it seems like C1 is simply not for me.0 -

Well, as C1 is historically a RAW converter first and foremost with some DAM capabilities for those who need a little organisation as part of the equation ... it sounds like you do indeed seek a different sort of DAM solution, although it may be worth mentioning that defining the rules for a Smart Album tends to be a one-off exercise unless one keeps redefining them. So perhaps not such a big deal in terms of overhead in the long run.
