New to C1 - Culling Raws outside C1
Good afternoon everyone. I'm new to C1. I'm still culling outside C1. I had a set of pictures (a few thousand) that I needed to do a quick global adjustment on. I did so, exported, and now culling the ARWs outside of C1. (I cull the exported JPGS, and then sync up the ARWs.
So now that I've removed half of the ARW files outside of C1, of course they are showing up as offline. How do I delete them from the C1 catalog, as they are gone.
I can't believe something as simple as filtering by offline/online isn't in the filter options. This would be so easy.
How do I do it without blowing away the whole catalog and importing from scratch?
(Please don't ask why I'm culling outside C1.. it's a long story. I'll get there someday. But I'm not there yet.

Some time ago with version 8 or 9 I had a problem with offline images because I was moving referenced images within C1 and this process did not adjust all images path in the catalog. I had to relocate them one by one. A filter or sort by offline/online status would have helped me too, I don't think this is possbile in v11, just not important enough to raise such a filter in the priority queue.
I don't have a good workaround for you, just a couple of ideas for you to try, might or might not help.
- Try exporting all images to a new catalog (maybe the offline images are exluded?): File>Export as Catalog
- File>Verify catalog or session ?
- Batch renaming? Idea here is that raw files which cannot be found consequently cannot be renamed, hence you might be able to filter the images in the catalog based on the new raw file name.0 -
The simplest solution would be to use sessions as opposed to catalogs. If you remove photos from a folder outside of Capture One when using a session they just disappear from the session, no image/thumbnail remains shown as offline.
If you must use Catalogs then I would recommend instead of deleting the ARW's outside of Capture One make a list of the filenames of the JPG/ARW's that you want to either keep or delete and use the 'Select By > Filename List...' function found in the Edit menu. Enter your list of filenames and they will be selected and you can either delete them or mark them how you see fit.
Are you using mac or windows?0 -
Fastrawviewer 19$
It loads raw in miliseconds
I cull in FRV and then import only to C1 only keepers
Great combo0 -

Windows.. This is a good solution. Select by Filename List...
I will try that. It's easy to create a list of all "included" files and then tag them all with a color or something. Then delete the rest.
I'll try that.

Great combo
With XMP sync you can use star or color rating in between the two: this is my current method of culling, very fast en not too expensive too! 😊0
