How to find which albums reference an image
Is there a way in Capture One Pro (v8.3.3 on a mac) to determine which albums a particular image is referenced in. My understanding (and I'm new with the program, so I may be wrong) is that images in the catalog can be referenced (included) in multiple albums, or none at all. I'm wondering if there is a way to determine which albums reference any given file.
The workflows I'm trying to work out are:
- a way to find any images in the catalog that aren't included in any album. This would be a way of determining any files that need to be categorized.
- if I search the whole catalog for a file (by name or keyword, etc), then I may want to know which albums include it to find related images.
So far I haven't found any way to trace the references to an image, which seems like a big whole in the program, but maybe I'm just missing something (or at least that is what I'm hoping).
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kari,
Welome to Capture One and the forum. I can easily understand that are looking for the features you mentioned in your post. Unfortunately, and unless I overlook the obvious, these features are current not available in CO8.0 -
Kari,
One option currently possible would be to create a "keyword" entry for each album. Perhaps a hierarchical keyword something like Album > [Name of album].
This should be a relatively quick activity for each album and then you can simply select all of the images in an album and apply the keywords for the [Name of Album] and it will include the word "Album" too.
Once all albums a re updated go to the All Images selection and create a search for images that do not have "Album" as a keyword.
Obviously this is just an illustration - you can of course use your own "words" and adapt the concept for your own purposes.
Options to visualise where images are set to 'belong' in albums would be nice I would imagine, although from a personal perspective at this time it would not be of particular interest to me
HTH.

Query the underlying database directly. That should do the trick if you need to do it occasionally only. 0 -
Hi, Kari unfortunately there is no way to accomplish you task.
I would recommend to stick to keywords instead of user collection.
I hope User collection feature will improve over time 😊0
