A 'browser' workflow - or is it sessions?
I want to have a workflow which doesn't involve 'importing', maybe its a 'session' but I haven't quite got may head around those yet.
I'm using PhotoMechanic to copy images to my Mac where I rate, caption and edit (as in make a selection) the shoot. I then want to process the selected raw files but not add them to my catalog. I see how I can use a session and browse to the folder where the files are, then I can filter by star rating to see the files I want to process. Once the JPEGs are processed I want to go back to PhotoMechanic and transmit the pictures to the client.
I wonder if there's a smart way of setting up a session to do this. Generally I want to bring a client's shoot in and save out the JPEGs to a folder where the original raw files are. I'm not sure on the thinking behind the session folder or if they will be a help or hinderance. Either way each day's job needs to be separate and deleted from the Mac once its archived elsewhere. Sessions appear to assume I want to import images - which I don't.
Thanks!
