Recover Deleted IIQ Files ??

I'm on a MacPro (10.9.5), and I need help to recover IIQ files. FYI...I was shooting tethered, the whole Session was not lost, but many "final" images were mistakenly trashed. I'm using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. So far, I have seen the file names with EaseUS and recovered the files from the trash. I then copied the recovered files (as well as what remains of the existing session) onto a drive and moved to another MacPro. I know to avoid writing any new info to the original MacHD.

Once on the 2nd Mac, I launched Capture and Imported the Session successfully. However, Capture will not allow me to import the individual recovered files...they are "greyed back". I've also tried dragging and dropping the files into the Session folder. Capture will not recognize the recovered files. They appear in the Mac Finder Window, but they will not show or preview in Capture. I presume I am missing the necessary metadata. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Is it file extension correct after recovery? Sometimes recovery software messes that up.

Correct me if I am wrong but IIQ files are basically zip files, right? So it's a container files for the other files that make up the edited image.

If one is recovering files from a delete memory area the software, in my experience, rebuild files (with new names) based on the file fragments it finds scattered around in the memory medium.

So I would guess that for an IIQ you would have the container and the content files recovered separately where possible. In other words, not as a "set" as originally intended.

However I am just guessing here.

You could undertake a controlled test, perhaps with just one IIQ file on a card, then delete it, then attempt recovery of the card and see what the recovery process gives you back.
