Shooting tethered to MacBook Pro with Canon 5D Mk IV
I have just tried shooting tethered to a Canon 5D Mk IV with my MacBook Pro.
I normally shoot tethered using Canon software, but I want to try a couple of things that I can't do with the Canon software.
I now have a few questions...
1. I have created a Session on the MacBook - I never use Catalogs - can I create a folder on the desktop of the Mac to save images to and point the Session to this?
2. How do I save to both computer and memory card in camera?
3. I want to capture to Linear mode. This seems fine. But, can I also capture to No Colour Correction? When I set it to this and take the photo, it reverts to the Generic profile when importing the image. Is it just that when I change it again to No Colour Correction, nothing remains applied to the image? i.e. the Generic profile is completely removed? Or, can I capture an image with No Colour Correction selected?
Thanks.

I hope I’m wrong...
But, a quick Google seems to indicate that capturing to computer and camera memory simultaneously, when shooting tethered, is not possible with CaptureOne.
If true, this may make sense when shooting in a studio situation where pretty much everything is repeatable. But, it makes zip sense when tethered on location when the “belt-and-braces†of a memory card is highly desirable.
In Canon’s EOS software, saving to both is simply a matter of a click of a button in the software.
If that is the case, I’ll be sticking with Canon for tethering.

It is true for tethering with Canon, that you can not shoot to both card and computer with Capture One. A few other camera brands have options in the camera to facilitate that but Canon does not.
I am aware of this option in EOS Utility. So if that is of paramount importance for you, stick to that. You can use the Capture One hot folder feature in combination with EOS Utility to get a kind of pseudo-tethering.0
