I believe the Sony version of Capture One Pro will allow Live View tethering. This is the Sony "only" version.

Release Notes in case you have not seen them

    Capture Pilot is not mentioned.

I would suggest you create a Support Case and ask the question for an official answer.

Capture Pilot can only show Live View from an Wifi capable IQ-back. However, you should be able to use the Live View from CO (but of course, that's no iPad)

I'm going to dig this up as it's still a bummer for my Sony workflow since I can't use Camranger.

I shoot interiors. I run around with clients using live view to arrange everything in the room from the perspective of the camera. It's essential for interior work.

I have to switch back and forth between the (TERRIBLE) Sony Playmemories app to get live view. Sometimes the app connects to the camera wifi, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the iPad forgets the camera password (which you can't change!) It's embarrassing in front of clients to wait to see if it connects... only to find you have to go into the camera to find the wifi password again.

The Playmemories app cripples many of the features on the camera and the live view and captured images are incredibly low res. You can't check critical focus using the Sony app, you can pixel peep with Capture Pilot.

It's frustrating to have to switch back and forth between Playmemories (I hate even seeing that stupid word) and Capture Pilot because of all the connection problems with the app.

The functionality is there on the A7R ii to show live view wirelessly!

I just wished Capture Pilot had the functionality.
