Edit Image In Album
Hi!
Currently trying out Capture One.
One thing that I can't find a solution for (sorry if this has been asked before) is this.
Suppose I have a catalog with 10 images, I then would like to have one album with black and white images, one album with colour images and say one album with different aspect ratio from the same images.
As soon as I edit image 'a' in album 'Black And White' all the other albums are changed equally which is not what I want.
I want to keep the original but have multiple (variants) in the different albums (a la virtual copy as in Lightroom).
Is this possible?
Regards Johannes

No it is not. You can have multiple variants so you can have one version B&W, one colour and others of various aspect rations but only one is the primary and they all get added to all the various albums.
This is a feature I would really like. I have logged a support case which started out as a question just like yours and turned into a feature request. If you want something like that too please log a support case asking for it. The more of us that do that the more likely that we will see that happen some day. 😊0 -
Thanks Ian!
I will also report this. 😄0 -

Yes. You need to use Smart Albums for this. Multiple variants of a single image file are always stored together in regular collections and Albums. Only in Smart Albums you can separate them based on a defined differentiator, for example a keyword or a color tag.0 -
Thanks Paul.
A little bit unintuitive but I'll give it a try.0
