Tethering - Suggestion and remarks
Hello,
we did last month our first job using CaptureOne and Tethering. It works and pretty nicely. However, here some suggestions and though. You are welcome to bring your ideas and comment.
We have been using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
- Most of the time, we set the focus once per object. We set the focus using the Canon Utility. When using "Capture" in CaptureOne, the camera try to focus (again) the object. And sometimes it fails. We are taking photo from flat stuff without contrast..
So would it be possible, to disable AF upon need ?
- CaptureOne has a nice feature named "Copy from last". It takes the adjustement from the previous pictures. It is very useful. But, the rotation is not taken. We photografie from the top, and the internal sencors of the camera is lost and most of the time wrong.
Would it be possible to copy rotation data as well ?
- [Hard one]. Would it be possible to implement a Canon like AF function? Yes, I know it may be difficult as Canon use closed-protocoll.
Thanks for listening.
Regards

Is there a reason not using Capture One live view for focussing? You can capture from the live view window, preventing re-focussing.
For orientation, use Copy from Clipboard to prolongate.
Last question I do not understand what you like to achieve.0 -
1. Yes. "Focus metering is not supported for this camera model".
2. Ok. Workflow would be better with a whole copy of the adjustement. no ? Or add a check marck "Copy orientation" ?
3. Well, it refers to 1. My camera are not (yet) supported. I use mostly Eos 5D Mark III and Eos 5D Mark II. Sometimes Eos 550D.
