A little while ago, I shot some images on my Phase One camera (XF + IQ3-100) using a card that was previously used with a Nikon. Everything seemed to be working until I tried to download the images to my PC. The PC showed the directory as empty. When I put the card back in the IQ3-100, it also read it as empty. I formatted the card and then it worked. A little later, I had the same problem. Both times, I lost all the images shot on the disk up until the card was re-formatted. Is it possible to add a tool that can check the disk when the camera starts up to check for this kind of error?

    Two points.

I think you probably should consider posting these sort of questions in the relevant camera sections as this forum is really intended for generic Capture One "how to" discussions that are not camera or computer technology specific nor function or feature centric.

Secondly, this is primarily a User to User forum and whist suggestions make for an interesting read if you really want to propose an enhancement idea to the Phase crew, hardware or software, the best route is to create a Support Case where they are recorded and should be managed and considered by the people responsible for the development in the area or areas of technology to which the suggestion relates.

That said for things like memory card usage across cameras from different manufacturers (or even different camera models from the same manufacturer) the industry recommendation has always been to re-format, preferably in camera, before re-deploying a card.

In addition, should it happen to you again, you could try some recovery software, rather than reformatting the card, as a first step.
