Edith With… file naming
When I have an image (HvE-20161119-0108.CR2) and I right click the image and choose "Edit With…", my file naming is acting strange: it inserts a blank space and then a 1.
Previously it was just HvE-20161119-0108.tif but now it's HvE-20161119-0108 1.tif.
These are my settings when I'm using "Edit With…":

Any idea where I can change the naming settings, so HvE-20161119-0108 1.tif becomes HvE-20161119-0108.tif when using "Edit With…"? Thanks!

I guess you are on Mac? I'm not sure if Windows does the same.
If a file with this name already exists and Mac OS is told to keep the existing file, it adds a counter number to the file when saving.
CO doesn't overwrite image files. So after saving the 1st file with this name, it will sequentially save new files ending with ' 1', ' 2', and so on.
Delete the existing file manually, and CO will save it without ' 1' again.

HansB, thank you very much for your fast reply. Really appreciated! 😎
And yes, I'm on a Mac. Good news: I found the cause. In the folder there was no HvE-20161119-0108.tif but.. there was a HvE-20161119-0108.xmp. When I removed that HvE-20161119-0108.xmp file, I could edit HvE-20161119-0108.CR2 and the file name stays okay: HvE-20161119-0108.tif after doing "Edit With…".
So, for everyone who has the same problems: remove XMP file(s) and try again! 😄0 -
Surprise! I wasn't aware that XMP causes it, too. Tricky when using sidecars.
