Not sure what your problem is....

    C1 v11 was about 299$

Your bundle was 390$, so the difference is just 91$.... for that you got the style package and the additional user license and an upgrade (regardless of when C1 v12 was going to be released).

If you don't need the style package and if you don't need the additional user license you should not buy these things in a bundle.

    What did you expect?

btw: a grace period is an accommodation, it's not required by law that PhaseOne gives you a free upgrade within a certain time frame - and certainly not if you purchase this upgrade as a part of a software bundle with a fixed price.

If I buy a fruit basket in 2018 I won't then go to the store in 2020 and tell them I can't eat pineapple, I don't like apples and he gave away a kiwi for free so I should only pay for the banana. You got what you paid for and that seems like a fair deal.

Who cares if the Grace period is not required by the law, they still do it, therefore I haven't used my free upgrade!
Not even offering a stile pack is obliged by the law, but they can't take it away once I've paid. What kind of mentality is it?
I have paid 91 extra dollars to have a free upgrade, which I didn't get. there could have been even a free trip to San Francisco in that bundle, that if yet I don't get my free upgrade, I shouldnt shut up as there was a trip along everything. I paid for something that wasn't given and that's not ok.
Damn such a mentality of typical internet user.

Why did you buy a bundle with contents (Styles) that you had no use for?

What stopped you upgrading to V12 when it was a current purchasable product that you could get for free?

It was offered, you chose not to use it. Your call really.

There was nothing to stop you taking the free upgrade but not using the later version if that was what you wanted to do.

If you have not used the later software or the Styles in over a year I would assume it is not that important to you - in whcih case you have simply settled for the product you bought in the first place and rejected the additional benefits of the upgrade and using the styles because you do not seem to want them anyway.

Hello,I have an issue with Phase One, and I can't get in touch with their phone support (if there is one?), and the ticket support is simply taking the piss out of me, by giving the same, no sense, systematic answer.

That sucks and is not surprising or the first example if you look around a little. I'd forgivingly say it's a temporary bottleneck surrounding a poor transition but I'd venture to add it's also a posturing and public image problem that should be addressed very seperately and concertedly. It won't.

The issue is pretty simple: Phase One, why do you sell a version upgrade as part of your package, by making it look more interesting and. to captivate people into buying the bundle?
If you were selling the same bundle, with NO version upgrade, due to the grace period, the user would have been upgraded to CO12 anyway. This was a sad and sneaky scam you did.
If this bundle didn't have the version upgrade, to make me save 60$ out of the upgrade, I would have never bought it and I would have simply bought CO11, and a free upgrade to CO12 and 150$ extra in my pocket.
Anybody in the same situation and was able to solve?

I am confused and would love you to clarify! Are you saying that you bought a Capture One 11 license bundle which included the promise of a free upgrade to the next version? (C1-12?)?

If that's the case are you saying this promise isn't being honoured now? i.e. You've been using Capture One 11 and now you'd like to use Capture One 12 -- but you cannot?

No, what he means is, he bought the bundle with the upgrade to the next version option. Then the grace period came and because he was in the grace period, he has upgraded for free however he hasn’t used his original upgrade pack to do that. Now he asks to use that upgrade pack to upgrade his software to v20.

Customer buys the 'latest' version, and it lasts no more than a few weeks so is upgraded to the next version thankfully due to a policy grace priod (yay).

Customer then expects to receive an upgrade to the next version as per what he bought. But is told his 'grace' upgrade was that, instead?

    This is a fair complaint!!

What style packs and the likes have to do with anything, I don't know.

Semantics, perhaps. To my way of thinking "free upgrade" and "grace period" is the same thing. I buy version X. I use version X. Version X+1 is released. I get a "free upgrade" to version X+1.

Yes, it's semantics -- and it shouldn't be. It should be quite clear. And your interpretation was neither mine nor the OP's so does it make you or the OP more correct? Fundamentally the issue is the dissatisfaction and feeling of misdirection. That's a problem.

I don't see that at all. There's no misdirection - I assume the bundle was available a few months before the new version was released so there was no grace period back then anyway and if they removed the mention of the upgrade from the bundle it would have been confusing.
It would be something different if he bought a bundle that did not include the upgrade and then he would have been denied an upgrade even though he bought the bundle during the grace period.

However in this case I don't see the problem.

Also what is PhaseOne supposed to do?

C1 v11 was about 299$ and the style packages are anywhere between 80-200$ (depending on what's included). Add to that the 2nd license and you're well above the 390$ the OP paid for that bundle.

So what exactly should he be reimbursed for?

Really, I don't see the issue.

If he wants to pay less he should not have bought a bundle, it's as simple as that.
