whenever I try to crop, the first time I like to crop I get an error: "Not enough memory to allocate the text watermark" - never had an issue with C1 12 - anybody else experiencing this?

Do you indeed have a watermark in your picture ? 0 -
Do you have the same watermark applied to all recipes?
If not see what happens with a different recipe in order to identify whether the problem is indeed related to the watermark or has some other factor(s) involved.
Now you have mentioned this I recall that I have seen a message about a jpg based graphic watermark on one of my experimental process recipes (activated by chance) that suggested something like the image was too big to be used. This is not something I have seen prior to V20.
Perhaps there are some new checks in place for size in terms of settings for the watermark compare to the intended output size but a message referring to "memory" seems a little too specific to technical rather than cosmetic problems.

I do have a text watermark applied to my pictures - the error message only comes up once, the first time when I click on the first picture to crop it - after that everything works fine 0 -
Strange.
I would suggest you contact Technical Support to let them knwo and see if they have any suggestions for you.
