C1 20 now reverted to C1 12 all of a sudden

I purchased C1 Pro for Sony version 12 at the time when there was a free upgrade to C1 20.
C1 12 was working fine.
When C1 20 was released I downloaded, used the upgrade key I was sent and installed it on my desktop. All worked fine.
I decided to install C1 20 also on my laptop. This worked after spending a long time installing "hardware acceleration".
Now when I return to my desktop and start C1 I am confronted with version 12. What happened to version 20?
Accessing the License code activation history info via Help in both desktop and laptop it shows I have had 3 activations - on Computers 1, 2 and 3; 2 and 3 being on the same date.
However I only have 2 computers - desktop and laptop.
What is going on? And how do I get C1 20 back on my desktop - where I do all my serious work?

Presumably your Program Files folder contains both version 12 and version 20. Can you double click the version 20 in the Program Files folder to open it? Do you normally start the app from a desktop shortcut or something? if so which version does it point to?
I think your 3 activations on 2 computers is 2 x v20 + 1 x v12.
