2 users, 1 catalog
Hello, my company grow up (good new ^^) and I want to know if it is possible to use Capture One catalog in multiuser mode.
In fact i manage big equestrian events, I have some big catalog (about 20k pictures), after the event i need to print order, add keyword (name of horse, etc) and other little things. I can gain time if two people work on that at the same time on the same catalog.
I have a strong wired network but I don't know if Capture One can be use like that.
Somebody do that ?
Best regards,

Nope - its not possible.0 -
I think you might be better to look at working in sessions and breaking up the shoot into small sections with a workflow that allows you to generate shares Presets, Styles, Keyword libraries and so on.
When a session is processed you then have a choice to simply build a master session from the individual sessions or to import them into a catalogue (or, indeed, catalogues).
If you are shooting at an event for real time sales that may be you only option - although most event photographers I have observed shoot jpg and pretty much use the out of camera images for printing with almost no intervention so I have never thought of C1 as a solution for the sort of volumes they shoot or the workflow involved.
If you are not offering instant sales (printed) then session and a well planned workflow would allow you to share the work among several people.

Hi, thank you for your answers.
Effectively i shoot event for real time sales and my assistants make modifications and on events printing fo customers. I shoot in JPG but there is always some little thing to do on images for have the best print quality.
But the main difficulty is not on events but at office. I can't print on events anything so I have order to proceed at office, in the same time i have keyword to affect at the pictures and export to put pictures on the online shop. If I can make theses last operation at the same time customers can i have more quickly to buy online.
I will try photomechanics, i think to know it is a good solution (but i will keep C1 for editing).0 -
This is an interesting and age old (relative to C1) problem. Technically you can't share the Catalog or Session, the app will crash. The only work around requires a robust network and Chronosync (or any other back up app). Sync up the second computer to the Capture station (source HD) with syncing as often you need to edit the files; i.e. if it takes 10 minutes to finish a shoot, then every 10 minutes. Second computer can open the Session, review, edit, make selects and process; xmp sidecar files are intact. Additionally, if there is an adjustment done or keyword update on the Capture station, this will reflect on the second computer as a file over write; all workflow is going upstream.
This set up acts as both local back up and editing station, and can be scaled up to handle several Capture stations at a time. Set up is working, but Chronosync is starting to show problems with completing transfers, requiring a relaunch of app and connection; it's either due to over write preferences or app bug. Still testing!0
