Camera Tool - Shutter button not firing the camera
Hello All,
I have recently added a FugiFilm GFX 100 and GFX 50 to my tethered workflow. I began having trouble yesterday getting the camera tool to fire either camera for me - it does very intermittently fire but is very unreliable. I am working a set that requires the cameras to be way out of my reach and this is a big PITA!
I have installed the latest upgrade and rebooted the computer as well as numerous other reboots (camera, software, etc)
Anyone else experiencing this or have any clues what might cause this issue?

Just throwing a crazy idea out there in case you're chasing a quirk that might be just a different way those cams work or something but...
Is it engaging autofocus maybe? And seeking/not shooting? I've just experienced unreliable firing that wasn't anything but auto af somehow being on and being intermittent based on usual af factors0 -
hmmmmm, I know what you're saying and I have had that experience before with my Canons. These new Fujis are crazy complicated (esp the 100) and I may have the AF settings optimized for the wrong type of shooting. Worth a test for sure. The problem popped up on a job shooting very "plain" products (black hinges).
I'll throw a busier product in front of the camera and see if that's what's causing the issue.
Thanks for the suggestion!0 -
For product photography with the GFX series it may be a good idea to set the camera to MF or use the liveview for focussing and triggering the camera.
Sometimes it helps to simply put the focus points to more contrasty areas.
I've had the same thing happen a few times but it was 99% down to focus issues.0 -

Yes! Today, I set the focus mode to manual and the problem is solved. I am sure it has everything to do with using the touch screen to focus but leaving the camera set to autofocus, I've changed it to manual and now it's happy. And so am I!
Thanks for help trouble shooting, I would have figured it out eventually but I could not hear the camera trying to focus over the fan heads.0
