MacBook Pro 13 or 15?

Well, I'm using MacBook Pro 15 inches 2013 version since 2014. Almost 5 years old and it served me well especially for tethering workflow. It still works perfectly without any issues and I already replaced a battery which is 3 years old before Apple Care expired. But it's 5 years old device and it might gonna die without any reasons. The monitor itself is the biggest factor since it doesn't support P3 instead of sRGB.

So far, no issues but I would like to think about the new one later. I liked 15 inches with an external GPU but it didn't use it that much during the tethering session and never gets hot. Well, I like its monitor size tho. So I wonder if 13 inch is fine for tethering workflow or not since I never used 13 inches MacBook Pro. I know it won't be that powerful but I don't use a laptop that often except for tethering.

I use a mid-2014 13" MBP for tethering, its small and under powered for some things but ultimately it gets me by. If you're shooting fast it can be slow on the image intake/previewing and when clients are watching it is not the most ideal situation. During slower paced shooting it does fine and then the only issue becomes that of a 13" screen being large enough for your needs.

For general computing I like the 13" size and portability. For image culling 13" is adequate. For retouching I find 13" to small and the 13" MBP to be under powered for higher CPU load tasks, such as batch processing/exporting a days shoot, particularly when the shoot is on an external HDD. If you plan on getting a 13" MBP I'd recommend to upgrade or max out the CPU & GPU options when purchasing.
