Automatic Follow after any response?

I seem to be getting automatic Follow settings from some of my replies in the new forum.

I have not spotted a way to set a preference for that setting and no prompt to allow an option to follow or not seems to be offered. I know I can set a value for each post but I would rather start by opting in occasionally than by having to opt out frequently!

The email updates every time someone replies to a subject are welcome, of course, most of the time but there is a potential for inbox overload and I would like some way to control it.

There may be another approach - if so guidance will be welcomed.

I haven't spotted how to set it per post, as you seem to have. How's it done?

Top of the post to the right of the title there is a box with Unfollow (or follow) and a count next to it.

Seems to do something. Not tested what. Nor whether it terminates emails successfully.

ETA:

Using a smart phone the format seems to place the Follow control option near the top of the screen just under the title.
