Try to rename .icc to .icm

That was the trick on my machine.

    Hi Alexei

I'm afraid that does not help on my Mac.
But it triggered me to have another look at it and I noticed that I could save the profile in a version 2 instead of 4.

Now it is visible and I can use it. Not sure though why this is only for the B&W generated profiles. The colour profiles I saved in Version 4 and work absolutely without issues.

    Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear about another solution! This kind of "problem" is really annoying .

    Stay at home, stay healthy!

    Thanks, you too.

I was in contact with Xrite about this and they were not able to provide an answer so I sent them the faulty profiles. So let's see fitst what they come up with. I would think I would not be the only one who has this issue. But anyway I will let them know what I did to get it to work afterwards. I want to hear their solution first. The version 4 ICC profile is the default and should work.

    Regards from the Netherlands.

For info guys I came across exactly the same issue when trying to create profiles for my Canon Pro-10S  using my Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4. While I'm using Lightroom the issue may be common - the response I got copied below - does make u wonder why they're bothering with V4 so not sure this makes complete sense. Bottom line is for me that saving as v2 does indeed make the new profiles available within LR

'Yes, Lightroom seems to have an issue reading v4 B/W profiles at the moment and saving them as v2 helps.

The Development Team are aware of this and this should be fixed in the next software update.

Just so you know, there is no actual quality difference between v2 and v4 with v2 offering the most compatibility with various software so it is usually the safest option to save your profiles, for both monitors and printers, as v2.,

Thanks for info. I’m still waiting for Xrite to give me some feedback.
I believe the problem is an OS incompatibility as the profile is even not recognised by color sync on the Mac.
For me saving them as V2 solved the issue for the time being but I still hope that xrite fixes this.
Don’t understand why nobody noticed this before.
    Best regards

Thank you for the post on this Andre. It was frustrating the heck out of me but after reading this and a re-do of the profile, the V2 does work on my mac. Apparently it still hasn't been fixed by xrite because I am using the latest download 1.5.0.
