Export Variants / Previews when Originals are offline
Implemented
This was a functionality of Media Pro, which has so far not been implemented with C1.
Even with the most recent update C1 20 Pro, we find ourselves unable to export .jpges from the generated previews. The variants can only be exported, if the original files (stored on external drives) are accessible or physically copied into the catalog. However, there is a sizeable preview folder inside the catalog folder, but we can not export those previews to send clients a first draft or contact sheet. Now it would be nice if one is on the road, to rudimentarily edit those previews and also be able to export them for a first proof! So far, the catalog functionality of C1 is rather limited.

Hi Torge, Did you try the Quickproof recipe? I think it is meant for out-processing the preview.

Back on my C1 computer I tested it, it is supposed to work (according to the error message) but it doesn't. Simply a bug?

Hey,
I actually got it to work! (Without your error message) So thanks a ton for your advice. I have to say thouhg, that its fairly buried in Capture 1, I had to ask around here to get a solution, searching the web wouldnt do. :) But again, im sorry I can not reproduce your error!
Now I just wish we would see all the files of subfolders in parent folders, and we d finally be able to use the catalog functionality approrpriately... *sigh*
