Tethering part II
Is anyone using a Canon 1D X (or something similar) while tethering with C1? I thought that you could tether AND have the shots saved to the on board memory card, but my camera isn't doing that.

I don't use the 1-Series any more but I do use the 5DS-R the 5D Mark IV and the 6D Mark II on Capture One 20. Capture One does not offer the ability to save to your card simultaneously. Canon's EOS Utility 3 does offer both saving options.
Much as I like Capture One, especially with its particular customisable Liveview workspaces and choices, one big gotcha for me is that you do not get to be able to change the flashgun options via your PC whereas EOS Utility does do that.

The C1 tethering option is intended to completely take over control of the core camera functionality as provided for by Canon's own code options.
That means the camera and computer are connected to the camera in a way that is NOT working as Mass Storage and the internal memory card is, therefore, not accessible.
Recently SOME, but not all, newly released models from Fuji do seem to allow use of the internal drive (memory card) in the camera providing the correct required communications mode is selected in camera. I believe there may be one or two Sony cameras offering something similar. Not owning any of them I cannot confirm that.
If you need the camera to work as usual and create its self named files using the memory card rather than the files named from within Capture One, the best option would be to make the images using the camera's controls, use the connected computer to save a copy of the file as well as the internal card and have Capture One monitor the "Hot Folder" on the computer to which you write the captured (and camera named) images.
HTH.
