Some old RAW files appear as View Only. Hot to fix?
Hi, I have a Capture One Pro (for Sony) license. I was going through some old photos and, as I was trying to edit the keywords, I realized that they are all locked.
Now, these old pictures were taken with an old Canon DSLR, but I am not sure this is the cause? Like, am I really not allowed to edit old raw files from other manufacturers?
Thanks

There is a reason the "for Sony" version(s) come with a reduced price.
It probably suits Sony as much as Capture One.

I mean, i sorta get that, but locking keywords editing is such a horrible limitation, especially for people with big catalogs :( I just want to keep my catalog in order, I'm not even interested in editing these photos

Adding, removing or changing keywords is an edit in Capture One. You need Capture One Pro for this. If it takes you less than a month to do this, deactivate your license, start your Pro trial and make you changes. When the trial ends, or earlier if you like, deactivate the trial, and activate as the 'for Sony' license again.
You can get a trial key from the Capture One website.

I had the same issue with black and white pictures. In the explorer picture, lower right corner appeared the symbol of an eye. All of them containing it could not be edited. The issue came from the format of the file, That did not contain the three colour layers. I converted them in lightroom to TIFF 16 bits kept save transparency. I can edit them now in Capture One.
PS I am moving from LR to Capture one, I am still in the learning phase in C 1, reason why I went to my old app.
