make copy/apply more efficient

Happy to hear that it works better for you than for me, Walter. But this still doesn't explain why a single action needs 2 or more steps. And it doesn´t explain why - with single tool settings - I have to 2x confirm the adjustments I want to copy&apply when doing this with an individual tool ... making it actually 4 steps in total for a single action.

Thank you for reminding me that (with single tool settings) I can skip the 2 confirmation dialoges by pressing the Alt or simply make it a single action by pressing the Shift(Opt) key. I have to say that I didn't fully appreciate this option so far. But ... why the heck don't I have the Shift(Opt) key feature with the main copy&apply button? Having that might make my day already.

Beyond that, I think you will agree that it is a fair expectation with an "edit selected" labeled function that all selected are edited (= at once, without any additional action needed). Interestingly, for the star labeling it exactly works as I would expect and describe. When having "edit selected" active, and I add a star rating to a series of selected images, all get it applied at the same time (without any additional copy&apply action). This is perfect. This is what I would naturally expect for any adjustment. That would really efficient for working with many similar shots, and actually is what I simply expect an "edit selected" to do.

I think what confuses me most is that I experience CO as a tool with extraordinary usability and efficience, and that just a basic function is an exception and that there are so many inconsistencies in the function's behaviour across touch points.

The only point where I unfortunately really need to disagree with you is that CO would be more efficient with copy&apply adjustments than LR. At least for my personal way of working it is definitely and by far(!) not. But I anyhow don't see this as a CO vs LR race. To make a clear statement, for me personally LR is out of game, and - at the risk repeating myself - I love CO for being in total much more efficient and allowing me to produce much better images. I simply hope that speaking up can help getting my editing tool of choice closer to perfection.

    Best
