Keywords from LR to Capture One Pro 20

First I need to mention that I really didn’t know about keyword structuring until I made the decision to switch from LR to Capture One. So my keywording in LR had no structure. Just randomly adding random keywords to my images.
With LR I just jumped with both feet not really know what I was doing or how to do it. So my LR was a mess. Going into COP I’m determined to start off on the right foot and have everything prepared and done correctly so not to end up with a disaster again. I have started building a keyword hierarchy list based on a webinar with David. I think trying to bring over my keyword list from LR into COP would only be a headache. My question is if i import lightroom images to capture one without the keyword file. Are my keywords still embedded in my images? So if I use a keyword that I know is associated with the image in COP will it still find that image.
Is there anything I should do to all of my images in LR before exporting the LR catalog for importing into COP?

But does it matter how the keywording was done in LR? I don’t want to bring over the mess that I made there. Or are you saying that the keywords will come over but not my keyword list as it is in LR.

Ok thanks. Maybe I can just create a small catalog with a few images to try it out. By the way your video on Migration to CO was literally the last video I watched before posting this. So I was a bit surprised that you committed on this post. I’ve watched a few of your videos and plan to watching more as I move on in the progress of CO. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for making them.
