Which GPU's ARE or ARE NOT working with HW assist on C1 20.04

If you go to a computer forum you will see that AMD are having big issues with their GPU drivers. Capture One can't do much, I guess, I would suggest keeping a close eye on the AMD GPU driver website and install the latest drivers. Nvidia cards work fine and generally older AMD cards.

    Hi Ian,

    tks for the reaction.

I installed both 20.2.2 and 20.4.2 (latest) drivers without any improvement.

I do follow the AMD GPU Driver website, but I am not very hopeful.

Purpose of this question is to get an idea which GPU's work or do NOT work with C1 Hardware assist.

In the meantime I made a deal with my supplier to exchange the 500 XT for an RTX 2070.(which should be working with C1)

They are about equal in price and performance.

    Regards,

    Frans

    Hi Franz,

Glad you were able to get a swop. AMD are doing wonders in the CPU market but with their GPU drivers they have gone off-track. I am sure the Nvidia 2070 will perform great in your system.

Ran a brief test with my new GPU and the RTX 2070 Super works OK with HW Assist. No artefacts while editing or after processing and much better performance when Processing RAW files:

Batch of 195 Sony A7R3 RAW files processing into TIFF and full size .JPEG's:

Config Ryzen 9 3900 with 64 RB RAM andM2,0 NVMe SSD and RTX 2700 Super (8 GB)

Without HW Assist: 28 min 15 sec

With HW Assist: 6 min 27 sec

so a performance gain of 77% which makes me a very happy camper . . .

    Regards,

    Frans

That's a nice performance improvement. I need to upgrade my 7 year old desktop and am looking at something similar but 3900 / 3900X, 32Gb ram and maybe RX2060, air cooling. May have to wait for the world to settle down :-)

With my Ryzen 7 2700X and the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and Windows 10, I have the same problems with hardware acceleration and artefacts.

When I change to a ASUS DUAL RTX 2060 Super EVO V2 the problems didn't gone.

I have the actual CaptureOne Pro and my drivers are all up to date.

All the solutions from the support team (rebuilding kernel, deleting preference folder) did not work.
With hardware acceleration I get artefacts on my fotos.

I do not know who is responsible for this issue, but when I look at the C1 support sites there is the following statement:

    Microsoft® Windows® minimum requirements

    • Intel or AMD CPU with 2 cores

    Recommended system requirements

If working with high-resolution images and doing calculation-heavy adjustments we recommend the following:

    • Intel CPU with 4+ cores

On the recommended requirements I am missing "AMD CPU".
What is the reason for this statement?

Is it really AMD who is responsible for this issues?

Is there someone in the community, who has no hardware-acceleration-problems with AMD RYZEN 7 2700X and AMD RADEON RX 5700 XT?

I have to apologize to CaptureOne. The problems are at AMD side.

NVIDIA distributed a new driver for my ASUS DUAL RTX 2060 Super EVO V2.
    I installed it and re-initialized the AppData\Local\CaptureOne\ImageCore.

Now hardware-acceleration is working more then two times faster than normal.

I read, that AMD is at work with a new driver for the RX 5700 XT,
but nobody knows, how long this will take.
