Capture One 12 Crop Tool with alt key not working
When I use the crop tool in the viewer and press and hold the alt key on MacOS 10.12.6 the crop will not crop around the center anchor, do I miss something?

Capture One 20 doesn't officially support MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) - the earliest it officially supports is 10.13.6 High Sierra, so you may encounter issues.

I'm using version 12, like I wrote in the title, version 20 won't even install on MacOS 10.12.6

If you mean that you want the crop to expand equally in all directions from the anchor point I think I am right in saying that was a feature introduced in V20 - hence the possible assumption IanW's response.

Ah, sorry. I missed that detail. In that case, the answer to your question is instead that using the Alt key to crop around the centre was a new feature in version 20.

Hi Ian,
thanks for the clarification. That's really sad to read that this is a feature I have to pay for, especially that I see this function as standard in every other software on the market.
I simply see no benefit in upgrading from 12 to 20, besides that I would have to abandon my current OS and older Software that I need to use because it is not supported on the latest MacOS.Kind regards

I am not sure about this being standard on all other software. The only two alternative apps I have available to try it on right now are Affinity Photo and ON1 Photo RAW 2019, and neither of them do it.
It's not so much that it's a feature you have to pay for as that it is an improvement brought in with the latest version. And I agree that it's quite useful, but I've been using Capture One for so long - since version 4.1 - without this, that out of habit I forget to use it anyway! You could say the same about some of the other new features, and it's up to each user to decide whether the new features are worth an upgrade.
(By the way, Capture One 20 will run on High Sierra, as well as Mojave and Catalina, so I suppose you don't have to update all the way to Catalina. Cn one update from Sierra to High Sierra now? I am not sure.)

Upgrading my Sierra will kill certain software that I'm using which is only supported up until Sierra... therefore I'm hesitating to upgrade. Besides that the difference between 12 and 20 is not worth it as the changes that have been made in 20 do not justify the price. That's my personal opinion though

... and that's a reasonable decision to make!
