Problems with downloading images, creating Customized Tool Set
Earlier today I reinstalled the Default Workspace on my copy of Capture One 20. Two problems have subsequently appeared: (1) When I attempt to import photos, nothing happens, and I get the message: "No unique images in folder." But I can see the images on my camera. (2) I created a Custom Tool Tab, then copied various tools to it. When I attempt to use the tab, no tools appear in it.
Yesterday I installed the latest update of Capture One 20. I mistakenly thought it would contain the cool new features announced previously. Could the update possibly be responsible for the problems I am having? In any event I would be grateful for help in correcting both problems, but especially (1). Until (1) is resolved, I can't process any new photos.

Do you have "Exclude Duplicates" selected in the Import Window? Also, make sure you save your custom workspace with a unique name under Window>Workspace>Save Workpace.

Tom, Thanks for your reply. I am grateful for your interest.
Yes, I have had "Exclude Duplicates" selected in the Import window. But I had not saved my custom workspace. I have now done so, calling the new option "My workspace." (I followed David Grover's directions in the video about "Customizing the user interface.") But if I switch to the Default workspace, all the tools in "My workspace" are gone when I return to it. Also, I continue to be unable to import photos.
Do you have any additional suggestions that I can try?
Best wishes, Dennis
