Same Settings for the same picture for different catalogs
Hello,
my question is about how the adjustment settings are stored and applied when I work with two different catalogs or sessions on the same images.
I have a big image database. I work with different catalogs and sessions that all access the same images.
Each catalog and session stores its own settings. In the end I have several different edits in the different catalogs. But I would like the changes I make to the picture in one catalog to be adopted by the other catalog.
How can I get all catalogs and sessions to access and change only one setting?
Many thanks for the answers

Can I ask how you end up with this situation to manage?
And then why it is necessary?
Without that information it is difficult to come up with a good recommendation.

As a travel photographer I have to deal with a large number of pictures from different countries.
I can create a session for each order and edit the images accordingly.
But if I want to have access to all images of a country, I can create a catalogue in which I import the different sessions.
Now I have the problem that I can change the settings of the images in the catalog as well as in the sessions.Or differently:
I have a catalog of over 100.000 images which I often need as an overview. Here I also change the setting of the images for new exports.
But sometimes it is better to have only the images of one country in a catalog. So I have a second catalog in wich I would like to have the same settings and changes here as well. Thanks

Thomas,
My initial thinking centres on the fact that, in your case, the un-linked processing of the same files by a session or a catalogue is a positive benefit.
In addition the potential for separate editing of the same images in different catalogues may have its place.
Editing of the same images in different sessions is not flexible (unless using different versions of C1)
That's great in some ways until you want to reset everything to standard edits across all sessions and catalogues.
If you ever do.
It's not easy to know what to suggest - whether for C1 or any other application.
Maybe someone else with the same needs will be able to come up with some suggestions.
