Lens Distortion Correction - Does it really work?
I Was Working with some photos shoot with my street lens, the Zeiss FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA Sonnar T*.
But when I tried to fix the lens distortion the result was this:
Before (No correction)

After (Correction for Zeiss 35mm applied)

Do you think it's correct??? (obviously not!!)
Thanks

In general, lens correction does work.
However the images you supply here are not very high resolution; it leaves some uncertainty about what you are seeing.
Is your complaint about the barrel distortion which is not corrected, or related to the sharpness or acuity of the image, or other things?
You seem to have changed three settings, but those of us who do not read your language (Spanish?) will have difficulty understanding what you have changed, could you indicate what the changed settttings are?

Nice example. The actual distortion (as in bended lines) is certainly not corrected properly. I don't have too much experience with CO yet if the lens models include warping fields for those effects or if image information needs to be used to compute it. Maybe somebody has some insights how lens distortion correction is implemented. I'm very curious.

I've just aone a little experimenting, assuming that the complaint is about the pincushion distortion. I do not own a Sony camera system, only some images I once took with a 7S and the FE 16-35/4 ZA OSS.
The distortion adjustment for this lens, and for any lens that I have, doesn't have much range.
Much more adjustmment range can be had by choosing the lens ptofile "Generic Pincushion Distortion"
At 25mm, and even at 16mm, the pincushion distortion of the the FE 16-35/4 ZA OSS is not nearly as bad as the 25mm (the images I have are 10m distance)
(I wonder why there is not no "Generic Barrel Distortion")

(I wonder why there is not no "Generic Barrel Distortion")
I think the answer to that is Generic does barrel distortion and Generic Pincushion Distortion does the opposite. Generic does in fact seem to work on barrel distortion.

Correct Ian,
my doubt is about how Phase One have implemented the Lens distortion correction for some lens, the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 in my case.
If Capture One recognizes the lens from the Raw file, I expect that the program applies the correct “Correction” for that Lens at any focal range, as Adobe Lightroom and Sony Edit already just do.0
