    Hi Alex.

Thank you for the feedback on the Capture One software and its functionality.

I will submit your suggestions to the Product Management team.

Hopefully, your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

    Alex,

Better, surely, that the source point can be select and changed even when outside the cropped area?

    Hi,

booth variants would probably be usefull. Beeing able to move the source point in and out of the cropped area would solve my current problem and it would add flexibility, so that would be great.

On the other hand I often cropp images to remove some artifacts at the edges of the image, auto selecting a source point from these areas would reintroduce these artifacts and an additionsl step of moving the source point would be needed.

But if I had to choose between booth variants I would follow your suggestion, as it adds to the flexibility.

    Alex

Is anyone having an issue with not being able to grab the healing tools source point to move it? I use a Wacom pen and have tried different tips to no avail. It happens every single time I try to use the heal tool. Like a full minute of trying to grab it before it actually lets me move it. My version of C1 Pro is up to date and I have also tried re-downloading it. No difference with the problem.

Otherwise, the updated tool is fantastic. When it works.

I also want the ability to see the whole image after it's been cropped when trying to use the Heal Tool. Everytime I go to heal something at the edge of the image C1 has chosen an area outside the crop - I'm left with either deleting that heal area or cropping larger/smaller than I wanted. The simple fix would be to make the option to restrict the heal tool to an area inside the cropped image or allow the user to see the full image when the heal tool is engaged (so you could move the source circle) even if its not within the cropped image.

The full image, pre-crop, should be available BUT one would need to be careful about whether masks for changes have been applied to the image when viewed after cropping. In such a case a rasterised  mask may  not be active everywhere in the image and could introduce unexpected results.

The obvious solution would be to make cropping the last things to be done but for many people, me included, that is not a great solution IF one has taken a lost of time to create something regarded as a critical and very specific crop earlier in the process.

Currently one solution would be to copy the crop to the clipboard, remove the existing crop, get the heal to work as required and then re-paste the crop back where one wants it to be.

If code development is being considered that options would seem to be to allow a temporary suspension of the crop by some method (preferably not involving the regular clipboard) or to allow a crop to be applied via a layer. Or, perhaps better, make  crops available as a specific crop layer "type" so that it could be turned on and off as required or even provide a flexible option for cropping to multiple output formats.

I think restricting the choice of heal source to somewhere inside the crop area would be much too limiting.
